Marketing expert, John Seckel discusses executive William White’s recent jump from Target to Walmart.

It’s a rivalry as old as time.  At least, for retail executives, it sure feels that way!  Constantly in competition, Target and Walmart fight for retail royalty.  Now, the one-stop-shopping retail stores have upped their competition in the way of marketing.  As of May 11, 2020, Target’s former Senior Vice President of Marketing, William White, will join the Walmart team.

As a marketing expert, John Seckel is interested to see what this will mean for the Walmart brand.  Will the retail giant’s approach to marketing follow in the footsteps of Target’s “cheap-chic” tactics.  Or will an entirely new strategy rise out of this new partnership with William White?  Only time will tell!
